First stop on our Cabo hotel tour: Esperanza! I have been eager to come to this resort for ages, so I was very excited to have the chance to finally see and experience it in person! It is an Auberge Resorts property, so I knew it wouldn’t disappoint.
And oh boy did it not. Esperanza is the ideal property for travelers seeking a luxurious, wellness experience. It’s calm and relaxing in the best way possible, the food is well thought out and cater to those looking for healthy yet delicious options, the fitness classes kick your booty, and the design of the whole resort is perfection. It’s romantic for honeymooners, but also perfect for a girls weekend getaway.
Check out how we spent our amazing 24 hours at Esperanza!

2pm: Check-In to Esperanza
As soon as we stepped out of the car we were welcomed with a signature drink and a gorgeous view. We were then escorted to our room where we checked in and enjoyed a margarita, chips, salsa & guacamole in our private jacuzzi on the terrace. We stayed in an Oceanview Spa Terrace Casita, and it was so spacious with over 925 square feet of space and doors that opened all the way up to the terrace. How swoon-worthy is this bedroom?!
3pm: Head to the pool!
The pool at Esperanza is a true stunner, with double infinity edge pools that lead down to a deck that sits directly on the beach with beach beds and cabanas. We reserved a cabana for the day, but any of the seating areas were desirable. Craving an afternoon snack, we ordered grilled fish tacos & Topo Chicos and relaxed in our cabana.
6pm: Sunset dinner at Cocina Del Mar
Cocina Del Mar is easily one of the most stunning restaurants I have ever been to. There is not a bad seat in the house and is truly the standout venue at Esperanza.
We started the evening off with a glass of sparkling rosé, the abalone shells with green tomatillo + chili + onion + cucumber and the seared scallops with green pipian salsa + chile guero. I’m also not one to usually care about a bread basket, but Cocina Del Mar’s was delicious – especially the crispy twisted breadsticks. We sipped our sparkling wine and watched the most beautiful sunset!
Next we moved onto the main course. Honestly everything sounded incredible and we could have ordered every single thing, but we finally settled on the spiced salt crusted totoaba for two people, the black eggplant with guajillo + mint + pistachio pesto, and butternut squash with pomegrante + dates + mint vinaigrette. I think Taylor and I will talk about this meal for years to come – everything was prepared perfectly and the flavors were out of this world. Refraining myself from licking the plate clean was no easy task.
To top off the evening, they surprised us with a dairy-free dessert (because I can rarely eat dessert). Y’all, this dessert was insane. They made a souffle with ice cream that you would have NEVER expected would be dairy free! It was so light too which was greatly appreciated after our large meal.

NEXT DAY
8am: Beach Bootcamp
Esperanza offers a selection of free fitness classes daily, and I highly recommend embracing the fact that you are beachside and doing a beach workout. They had beach yoga this morning as well, but we were ready for something that took us a bit out of our comfort zone. Bring in beach bootcamp. This hour long class featured different circuits that kept our heart rates up throughout the entire class but could easily be modified for guests with varied fitness levels. Other fitness classes offered include TRX, Reformer Pilates, and more.
We were lucky enough to have Donavan Almond, CEO of Castiloga Fit, instructing that week. Esperanza has guest fitness instructors often, check out the schedule here.
9am: Breakfast at Cocina Del Mar
After a successful workout, you enjoy a long, leisurely breakfast with that gorgeous Cocina Del Mar view!
I love starting my morning off with a green juice, so I got their version with parsley + spinach + kale + celery + cucumber + lime + apple. Taylor got the strawberry + watermelon + chia + ginger juice which was sweet and delicious!
We couldn’t decide between sweet and savory, so we went with both! The paleo french toast with healthy grains + coconut + cinnamon was heavenly, and it made me so happy that they could make one of my favorite indulgent dishes dairy-free! For savory, we opted for two eggs any style with sauteed sweet potato + cherry tomato + kale which tasted so fresh and was the perfect portion.
Taylor also ordered the almond + banana + strawberry morning jar with greek yogurt as well as the gluten-free banana bread which she raved about.
DAILY BREAKFAST FOR TWO IS INCLUDED WHEN YOU BOOK YOUR TRIP TO ESPERANZA WITH PASSPORT TO FRIDAY!
