I'm Chelsea.

I know my job is unique and most people aren’t constantly traveling to exotic destinations for work. That doesn’t mean you can’t embrace the season however and not incorporate some tropical flare into your wardrobe!

It’s no secret that I love the warm weather and the feeling of vacation. There is definitely intent behind my decision to move to Austin when I can live anywhere. I love the heat. The minute the average temperature creeps up to 75 degrees, I’m the happiest person you’ll ever meet. Up until my move I lived in San Diego for my entire life and even that felt a little on the chilly side for me sometimes (June gloom is a real thing y’all). Austin’s weather is similar enough to San Diego, yet even more days of warmth. So that mixed with my constant travel to beach destinations means I am ALWAYS SO HAPPY!

While I wish I could wear dresses and off-the-shoulder tops year round, there is a time and a place for it. And the time is now! So embrace the warmer temperatures and slip on those tropical prints. These are all items I find appropriate for business occasions yet still offer a feeling of fun and vacation, so go to town and buy them all.

Tropical & Floral Prints

It would not be proper to have a post related to vacation clothing without tropical and floral prints! Prints are a great way to feel like you’re on vacation even without actually being at the beach. They always instill a feeling of happiness in me when I put them on.

ISOLDA Off-The-Shoulder Tropical Print Top: This is one of my favorite tops of the season. The print and the design are equally gorgeous!

Collection Patio Pant in Vibrant Wildflower: The vibrant color and fun print are amazing.

TRYB 212 Howard 3/4-Sleeve Tiered Dress: Another vibrant floral pattern that can be worn at the beach or with a blazer for the office.

J.Crew Collection Printed Shantung Straight-Leg Pants: J.Crew is killing it in their printed pant game, and this pant is no exception.

Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply Floral Print Gauze Tunic: A lighter take on florals in blue & white.

J.Crew Collection Wide-Leg Silk Pant: Silky & flowy pants are comfortable yet stylish.

Whites

By far my favorite color, I love the classiness of white and that it truly goes with everything. I’m a firm believer that we should not have to wait until Memorial Day to wear white and if I want to wear white after Labor Day, I darn well will. So you’ll see me sporting my whites year round.

Splendid x Damsel Shirt Dress: Everyone needs a white shirt dress.

Chelsea28 High Rise Wide Leg Pants: Seriously PERFECT white pants!

J.O.A. Crochet Fringe Hem Midi Dress: A fun dress perfect for a work trip cocktail reception.

Off-The-Shoulder Blouse: This shirt can go with basically anything and depending on your office’s dress code, still covers enough to make it office friendly.

Olivia Palermo + Chelsea28 Patchwork Lace Midi Dress: I love anything that has to do with Olivia Palermo, and this collaboration is great for dressier occasions.

T Tahari Straight Leg Suit Pants: Classic, fitted, white pants are a wardrobe essential.

Stripes

If you can’t tell by my Instagram pictures, I am obsessed with stripes. This season I think every other item I bought was striped. Stripes are a subtle way to add a coastal feeling but still blend into normal, everyday life. Rather than it being like ‘bam there’s a bunch of pineapples on my shirt so I should really be at the beach’, it’s more like ‘I’m going to sit in on this meeting and there’s a chance I’m going yachting afterwards’.

Trouve Stripe Belted Top: Sophisticated yet sexy.

Sanctuary Boulevard Stripe Crop Woven Pants: These pants are AMAZING and can work for so many different occasions.

Cupcakes and Cashmere Piper Striped Sweater Dress: Pair with a blazer at the office or rock it on its own for dinner at night.

Scotch & Soda Signature Striped Shirt: Such a classic piece that you can wear with slacks in the office or white pants or jeans shorts on vacation.

H&M Striped Shirt Dress: A great piece to transition from the office to leisure that is on sale for less than $15!

Madewell Central Stripe Cotton Shirt: A take on the classic striped shirt but sleeveless so better for the warmer months.

Meetings-to-Beach Bags

Don’t want to pack two day bags with you? Just bring one of these along (as your carry-on too!), and you are covered for both business & pleasure.

Tory Burch Block-T Applique Tote: Tory Burch does it again with a simple yet eclectic bag perfect for the office or beach.

Star Mela Dara Mirror Tote: Embroidery + burlap = yes.

Street Level Reversible Faux Leather Tote: A well-priced simple leather tote.

Longchamp Splash Large Shoulder Tote Bag: Longchamps are great bags and this one is a fun print.

Eric Javits Watuti Scalloped Tote Bag: This is the most amazing straw tote I’ve seen all season, and it’s on sale!

Tory Burch Packable Ella Tote: Durable and who doesn’t love stripes?

Accessories

Festive accessories add a little fun to any dull outfit or meeting. Anything from a floral watch to a tropical notebook can bring some happiness into your day!

Ted Baker London Floral Print Strap Watch: Love adding this subtle touch of floral & color to any outfit.

Pineapple Small Notebook: Make your meetings more fun with a sparkly pineapple notebook.

South Moon Under Pineapple Stud Earrings: Another subtle way of getting in the tropical spirit.

Rifle Paper Co. Boxed Notes Floral Thanks: You know how important I think thank you cards are, and these ones are more fun for spring and summer!

Sonix Palm Beach Transparent iPhone 6/6s Case: Feel like you’re always on vacation with a festive cover on your most used possession.

Rifle Paper Co. Mint Floral Journal: A pretty way to take notes.

Safe travels y’all!

Best,

Chelsea Rose Martin
