A Day in SF's Financial District/SOMA
San Francisco. A mecca for techies and hipsters alike, this city is also a frequent destination for many business travelers of all industries. With the overwhelming selection this city has, I have put together a quick list of some great spots to check out while staying in San Francisco’s Financial District and SOMA.

 WORKOUT

SoulCycle
Yes, SoulCycle may be “trendy” and therefore scare skeptics off, but it is a very good and fun workout. There is one located right in the heart of the Financial District if you’re looking to get your tap-back on.
75 First Street, San Francisco, CA 94105
Barry’s Bootcamp
Although Barry’s is technically not in the Financial District as it is actually right across the street from AT&T Park, this workout is worth the trek to get to. Not a workout for beginners, Barry’s challenges you to your limits. The workout consists of high intensity treadmill for a 6-10 min interval, followed by weights for the same time period (or vice versa). Be prepared to sweat, but lucky for you they have showers (bonus: with MALIN+GOETZ products)!

BREAKFAST

La Capra

Thank goodness I don’t work in SF’s FiDi, because I would satisfy my carb addiction at La Capra probably every morning. Best toast ever here, I don’t think the word “toast” even close to does it justice. You could go simple with sea salt & butter ($2.50), or for more hearty options try the savory avocado toast with togarashi ($4) or the sweet almond butter with bananas & honey ($4). Their lunch options look amazing as well with well-crafted sandwiches and salads (think: quinoa salad with veggie slaw, baby kale, capers, green grapes, shaved cauliflower, verjus vinaigrette). YUM, I want it now.
50 Fremont Street, Suite 110, San Francisco, CA 94105

Pressed Juicery

Some mornings, especially after travel days and before long meetings, you just need something light and healthy to start the day. Pressed Juicery is your place for this. With a large variety of juices ranging from green to roots to citrus to fruits to coffee and more, there is something for everyone.

 LUNCH

A Day in SF's Financial District

Bartlett Hall
Off the beaten path, Bartlett Hall has a historic saloon vibe and beyond exceptional food. If you’re looking for something light, try the kale salad (one of the best salads I’ve ever had, and I don’t say that lightly), or for something with more substance try their famous Bartlett Burger with caramelized onions, cabot cheddar, and russian dressing.
242 O’Farrell Street, San Francisco, CA 94102
Uno Dos Tacos
Looking to sit outside on a (rare in SF) nice day and maybe add a margarita or cerveza to your lunch order? Uno Dos Tacos is your place. With a concept similar to Chipotle of ordering your protein and then choosing if you want it in taco, burrito, salad, or plate form, this restaurant offers a more upscale version. They also have a great happy hour from 4 to 8pm if you’re able to wait a few hours for that margarita.

Blue Bottle
Any coffee connoisseur has heard of, and probably drank much of, Blue Bottle Coffee. Hooray for there being a location now in the heart of the Financial District! Try the Iced New Orleans for a sweet treat.
115 Sansome, San Francisco, CA 94104
Capital One 360 Cafe
A large, multi-level coffeehouse, Capital One 360 Cafe offers 50% off beverages when using your Capital One 360 Debit Card. Not a Capital One member? No problem, this is still a great place to grab a cup of Peet’s Coffee and people watch or get some work done.
101 Post Street, San Francisco, CA 94108

AFTER-WORK DRINKS / DINNER

Kentucky Garrigue at Dirty Habit (Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon, Luxardo Cherry, Strawberry-Balsamic Shrub, Black Pepper)

Dirty Habit
Hidden gem right here located on the 5th floor of the swanky Hotel Palomar. The rooftop is the highlight of this beautifully designed restaurant, although the space in its entirety offers an intimate, luxe feel. Sip on creative craft cocktails such as the Date in India (Herradura Blanco Tequila, Tamarind, Luxardo Maraschino, St. Elizabeth’s All Spice Dram, Lime), and nibble on bites such as Fried Squash Blossoms or Confit Octopus. Reservations are recommended as this place fills up fast.
12 Fourth Street, San Francisco, CA 94103
The Courtyard
Does sitting outside, sipping a beer, and munching on food truck food in a casual environment sound like a better way to unwind to you? The Courtyard is your after-work destination then. An Off-the-Grid concept located on the edge of SOMA within The Yard, it serves up gourmet street food and a selection of wine and beer. Enjoy those Fish Tacos paired with an Anchor Brewing Lager.
Located at the corner of 3rd Street and Terry Francois Blvd.
Hope you enjoy your time in this wonderful city and make sure to check out the other neighborhoods as well!
Safe travels y’all!
Best,
Chelsea Rose Martin
