I'm Chelsea.

Napa Valley wine tasting, decadent cuisine, varied types of seating – the only things lacking to make this lounge heaven on earth to me are a spa and rooftop (and seriously with the wellness craze I’m just waiting for the day Centurion Lounges start getting fitness or yoga centers).

Although I do not fly any of the airlines that operate out of Terminal 3, I make it a point to get to SFO early enough to enjoy the Centurion Lounge here. It honestly is so easy to get to if you are flying out of any of the terminals thanks to the helpful AirTrain. I fly out of Terminal 1 often and it usually takes me about 15 minutes to get from the Centurion Lounge at Terminal 3 to the AirTrain then through security at Terminal 1 (thank you TSA Pre-Check). I would give yourself more time than that if you don’t have Pre-Check, but regardless it truly is a breeze.

Okay so the lounge. I have now been to four Centurion Lounges and I have to say this one is definitely on the smaller and more crowded side. That being said, I have never had a problem finding a seat. In fact, I have a seat that in my head I deemed “my seat” because I always get it and love it. For the first time this week I walked in and it was taken. As sad as I was, it forced me to go try one of the other types of varied seating and a new crowd (changing it up from the bar crowd by the wine tasting where I met some very fascinating and fun people to the business crowd where I got to eavesdrop on some compelling calls and chat about the latest start-up Ben was investing in).

As you may have figured out by now, Centurion Lounges are very similar across the board. They even have their own scent. Seriously I was trying to find the lounge in Las Vegas and my nose led the way, you can smell it that far away. The shining star difference for SFO is the wine tasting which I think is a fun touch. Well here are the amenities offered at Centurion Lounge SFO!

Complimentary Food & Beverage

Duh. But not your average food & beverage and like all Centurion Lounges it is a different menu. You can find the menu on their website, but certain items seem to change around. I personally have never been there and the food be exactly the same as the time before.

For breakfast, I fully embrace my cheat day and go for the Crispy French Toast with Caramelized Apples, it is just way too good to pass up. I also love their Egg Frittata, which I suggest asking a sever for some hot sauce to accompany it! Their Make-Your-Own Yogurt Parfaits are always good with delicious granola.

For lunch/dinner, I find the menu changing often but you can always expect to find their Fried Chicken. I’ve had the Roasted Brussel Sprouts there before, but this past time they had a Seasonal Squash and a Beet Salad. This week for dessert they had a Strawberry Shortcake Cup.

Now on to the dranks. I’ve actually never ordered a cocktail here because if I’m drinking, I’ll head straight to the wine tasting. The bartenders here are great and very friendly though so just tell them what you like and they will whip something up from their extensive bar. If you want to try a signature cocktail though, I have been told their Gin Basil Fizz (St. George Botanivore Gin, Lime Juice, Aqua Perfecta Basil Eau de Vie, Sparkling Wine) is delectable! Per usual they also have an espresso/mocha/latte machine, sparkling & still water, iced tea, and more.

Complimentary Wine Tasting

The belle of the ball at this lounge. Truthfully it is not as cool as it sounds (no sommelier behind a pretty bar explaining all of the wines to you), but it’s still a great concept in my eyes. You go to the bartender and ask for a wine tasting receipt (free) that gives you 5 tastings, although you are always welcome to go back to the bartender to get more receipts. There is a wine list available explaining the wines you can try and wines are dispensed electronically. There are around 18 wines available ranging in varietals.

Complimentary WiFi

A given, but thankfully it is fast and trustworthy.

Varied Seating

I love the different types of seating Centurion Lounges offer because there truly is something for everyone. I like sitting at the large, wooden, communal tables because there are outlets built into the table and you usually meet some interesting people. There are more semi-private workspaces though, seating at the bar, dining seating, couches, and desks.

Additional Amenities

Showers Suite, Computer Bar, TVs, Magazines & Newspapers, Family Room, and Print, Fax, & Copy Center

Location: Terminal 3, by Gate 74

Hours: 5am – 11pm

Safe travels y’all!
