I'm Chelsea.

As the temperatures are getting colder, airplanes aren’t getting any warmer. Is it just me or are airplanes the absolute coldest places ever? I could be traveling to the Caribbean and you’ll still find me decked out in pants, a scarf, and a sweater or two.

I wore this outfit traveling from Austin to San Diego partially because it was actually chilly in Austin that day and partially because I was taking an evening flight and knew I would get very cold.  I’ve learned the hard way that you gotta take these kind of factors into account (flashback a couple years ago when I wore shorts or dresses on San Diego outbound flights because “well it was hot in San Diego”). Half the reason why this outfit is so great is because you are wearing some of your heaviest items and lessening the load and space available in your luggage. The coat itself would take up a decent amount of my packing room as would the boots. Solution: wear it on the flight! (Just don’t be that annoying person who takes up the overhead bin with their jacket… use it as a blanket instead).

Winter Travel Outfit

The dark and muted colors are very “winter”, and I would feel comfortable stepping off of a plane and going straight to a casual meeting in this. I mean who doesn’t love a fur collar to add a little touch of glam to an outfit? Comfy + not sloppy-looking while traveling = heck yes.

These are some great similar options:

Fur Collared Coatone / two / three

Striped Top: one / two / three

Grey Stetch Jeans: one / two / three

Over The Knee Black Boots: one / two / three

Black Hat: one / two / three

Black & Gold Belt: one / two / three

Safe travels y’all!

Best,

Chelsea Rose Martin
