After a few weeks in Europe that involved a backpack on my back and sleeping in a tiny bunk bed on a rocking boat for 7 nights, I needed a little rejuvenating “me” time.
NAAVA Salon and Spa is the largest full-service salon and spa in downtown Austin with over 6200 square feet of space and also the only LEED certified salon in all of Austin. Additionally, they were nationally ranked the third best salon in the country by June Salon Today magazine. Well, I was officially sold so I booked a massage and partial highlight for the day after I returned from Europe.
I began my day at NAAVA with a Deep Tissue Massage with Jennifer. I was greeted at the front desk and asked to choose a fragrant essential oil to be used during my service. I was taken into the locker room where I was given a (very comfy) robe and slippers to change into. From there I entered a dark, intimate room where I enjoyed a cup of green tea and relaxed until it was time for my service.
The massage itself was wonderful. Jennifer performs the massage according to the way the muscles are moving. So even if you think you want it as deep tissue as possible, she listens to your body and does what’s best for it. Which resulted in feeling AMAZING. I wasn’t sore the next day yet all the kinks were out.
Next it was time to get my hair done with Monica. I had spent so much time in the sun that my hair already had natural blonde highlights, so she added more variations of blonde to give it some dimension and style. She also was such a sweetheart, I could have talked with her for days! She spent years working at a salon at a luxury hotel in Las Vegas, so you know this girl knows her stuff.
NAAVA is offering a new guest offer with a free cut with a color service!
The design of NAAVA is beautiful. Clean lines, chic wood details, and simplistic decor fills the space. It is also so bright and airy in there with good people watching of 6th Street!
One thing I loved about NAAVA were the seating areas. Just like the relaxation room before my massage, there’s a similar seating area in the salon that offers tea, coffee, and cucumber water.
Complimentary parking is available in the building too, so don’t be discouraged by the downtown location!
Safe travels y’all!
Best,
Chelsea Rose Martin
