Whether you’re coming from out of town or just heading downtown for a staycation, The Joule is the place to stay in Dallas. Not only is the design gorgeous, but the food is fresh & delicious, the shopping rivals some of the best in LA or NYC, and the feeling of luxury is everywhere you turn.
Take a look at my 24 hours of luxurious living in downtown Dallas at The Joule!

1pm: Check-in to The Joule
We arrived to The Joule, valeted the car, and headed straight to our room (which was luckily ready early for us!) We stayed in a Premier Room which was spacious and had an INCREDIBLE bathroom. My two favorite aspects I would have to say were the comfy robes and black-out, automatic curtains!
Turndown service is complete with water bottles and a small dark chocolate bar with potato chips in it – welcome to Texas!

2pm: Soak in the sunshine at the rooftop pool
The pool at The Joule is quite possibly the most unique pool I have ever seen, as 8 feet of it jets out over the bustling city below. Order a poolside cocktail and kickback or take a dip in the heated pool! The pool is open exclusively to hotel guests, so no worries about big summer crowds here.
5pm: Happy Hour at Americano
All of my Dallas friends rave about Americano, so I was excited to see what all of the hype is about. I was immediately charmed by their streetside patio and colorful interior, but the fresh Italian flavors are what really stole me.
The pizzas looked enticing, and if I were not lactose intolerant I would have dove right in. I’ve also heard great things about their Caesar Salad from multiple sources (pro tip).
What to order: Any of the wines on tap (I had the Zweigelt “Pratsch” Rosé) + Albacore Tuna Crudo (with capers, lemon, olive oil) + Shaved Cauliflower Salad (with pistachios, golden raisins, lemon, olive oil) + any of the pizzas
BOOK WITH PASSPORT TO FRIDAY AND RECEIVE A $100 HOTEL CREDIT WHICH CAN BE USED AT AMERICANO!
8pm: Nightcap at Midnight Rambler
If craft cocktails are your thing, then Midnight Rambler is your destination. This cocktail bar not only has some of the best cocktails in the city, but also an alluring ambience to match. We ended up being there during happy hour, so we went classic with a Negroni and an Old Fashioned because they were just about $7 or $8 each but all of their cocktails looked amazing. The dark space was surprisingly inviting, and I could see it being a great post-date night spot as well as group get-together spot on the weekends.
What to order: Cuffs & Buttons Cocktail (spiced bourbon, stone fruit, acacia honey, creole bitters, lemon zest) + Bohemian Bloom (gentian, douglas fir, pear, grapefruit, elderflower, brut sparkling wine) + Carrot-Peanut Hummus (carrots, harissa, candied peanuts, sourdough toast or veggies upon request)
BOOK WITH PASSPORT TO FRIDAY AND RECEIVE A $100 HOTEL CREDIT WHICH CAN BE USED AT MIDNIGHT RAMBLER!
NEXT DAY
6:30am – Grab a Coffee at Weekend Coffee Shop
Weekend is not only one of the most darling coffee shops, but also the tastiest serving up coffee from Seattle’s Victrola Coffee Roasters, juice from Local Press + Brew, breakfast tacos, pastries and more!

7am: Fitness Class at Vital Fitness
If you know me, you know that a morning workout is a must while traveling. I took a 45-minute Rhythm Ride at Vital Fitness next door to The Joule, and the combination of the dark room, energetic music, and choreographed instruction made for the perfect way to wake up and start my day!
VITAL FITNESS IS ON CLASSPASS! SIGN UP HERE TODAY TO RECEIVE $30 OFF OF YOUR FIRST MONTH OF CLASSPASS.
9am: Breakfast at CBD Provisions
Breakfast time! CBD Provisions is The Joule’s restaurant that serves breakfast (and lunch & dinner as well!) The menu had something for everyone. I am always so thankful to see a green juice on a breakfast menu, as I find juices essential while traveling. The Egg White Frittata was truly one of the best I’ve ever had, and they were able to accommodate my lactose-intolerant dietary restrictions perfectly.
What to order: Power Green Juice (kale, parsley, cucumber, celery, lemon, apple) + Egg White Frittata (with shiitake mushrooms, TX goat cheese, comeback creek greens) + Carolina Rice & Grain Bowl (green garlic pecan pesto, poached egg, house ricotta) + Thick Slab of Griddled Potato Bread (with house made cultured butter & jam)
DAILY BREAKFAST FOR TWO IS INCLUDED WHEN YOU BOOK YOUR STAY AT THE JOULE WITH PASSPORT TO FRIDAY!
11am: Shop, Shop, Shop
There is no shortage of quality shopping nearby when staying at The Joule, and you don’t even have to leave the hotel to experience some of it!
Design lovers will obsess over TenOverSix, the contemporary designer boutique Traffic is beautifully curated, and the brand-new Forty Five Ten across the street carries everything I could ever want in my closet plus has a restaurant with rooftop patio (and a mini-champagne bar/coffee shop!)
Safe travels y’all,
Chelsea Rose Martin
