I'm Chelsea.

Last week I had the pleasure of staying at the iconic Adolphus Hotel in Dallas. I felt like I was transported back to the days of Gatsby walking through the expansive lobby – this hotel has serious history! Located on the site of Dallas’s original City Hall, the Adolphus opened its doors in 1912 by beer magnate Adolphus Busch of Anheuser-Busch. Everywhere you look, timeless luxury abounds.

Every corner your turn and space you encounter somehow seems more stunning than the next, and I highly recommend coming here to anyone staying or living in Dallas even just for a cocktail or meal.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The Adolphus underwent a full transformation in 2016 and newly renovated rooms are sleek and modern, while still keeping with the historic feel of the hotel.

All rooms are over 500 square feet and have 10-foot ceilings which make the already large rooms feel even more spacious and luxurious. King-size beds feature plush pillow-top mattresses, making for the coziest stay!

I stayed in a Deluxe Double Room which is perfect for a girls weekend due to its large size and TWO king beds.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

City Hall Bistro

For a trendy yet somewhat casual vibe, City Hall Bistro features southern European-inspired cuisine with a modern flair. Fresh, feel-good dishes include fresh fish, wood-roasted vegetables, and home-baked bread (just to name a few). An extensive wine list includes plenty of quartino options for those of us who like to try different wines. Plus the happy hour menu is one of the best in town! City Hall Bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily with brunch on the weekends as well.

What to order: Brussel Sprouts, Roasted Beet Hummus, Salt Baked Sweet Potato, Char-Grilled Octopus, Steamed Market Fish

Otto’s

For good coffee and bites on the go, head to Otto’s. I took my order to go, but the space is so gorgeous you may want to stay and enjoy it there!

What to order: Americano, Green Juice, Chia Seed Pudding, Liege Waffle

The French Room

For fine dining, The French Room is not to be missed! This critically acclaimed restaurant offers your choice of a French-inspired five-course tasting menu or a la carte menu, all created by Houston born check Anthony Dispensa.

Complementary to The French Room is also The French Room Bar and The French Room Salon, perfect for pre- or post- dinner cocktails and light bites.

Tea at the Adolphus

For a unique experience, try high tea in Adolphus’ beautifully decorated tea room. This service is held Friday through Sundays from 12 to 2 and features Zakti tea and house-made sandwiches served on Adolphus custom china.

THINGS TO DO

Pool

I love city hotels with rooftop pools and the Adolphus pool meets all my criteria for a relaxing time. The pool overlooks downtown Dallas and is lined with private cabanas, a fire pit, full bar, and pool menu features healthy fare offered all day and evening.

Spa

No weekend getaway is complete with some “treat yourself” moments, and spending time at the Adolphus Spa is the place to indulge in this at the hotel. The 5,000 square foot spa features six treatment rooms, a relaxation room with patio overlooking Dallas, salon, and an abundant treatment menu.

Shopping

Hit up Adolphus’ gorgeously curated boutique, Commerce, for a new outfit for your stay! There’s something for everyone from Western-inspired designs to luxury goods to local artists and more.

Barber Shop

A barber shop in the hotel? Yes, you heard that right! This classic style barber shop run by Brass Tacks (a local barbershop) is a fun addition to the Adolphus lobby.

Safe travels y’all!
