Temperatures have finally cooled down (if y’all live in Texas like me you know what I mean), which to me means embracing all things fall. One of my favorite fall activities is sitting on a balcony enjoying a nice glass of wine. Anyone else with me on this?!
This year I kicked off the fall season with a European road trip! I embarked on a road trip from Rome to London with a friend, in which I brought my AVA Grace Vineyards Chardonnay in tow!
One of my favorite memories was sitting on our balcony overlooking Lake Como while enjoying a glass of AVA Grace Vineyards Chardonnay. While Lake Como is of course beautiful in the summer, there was something particularly special about enjoying the destination in the fall with the changing of leaves, less crowds and cooler temperatures.
Next up was Lake Lucerne in Switzerland. If there is one place everyone should go in the fall, it’s Switzerland! I was on Lake Lucerne this summer, but honestly loved it even more in autumn. Enjoying a glass of AVA Grace Vineyards Chardonnay watching the sunset over the beautiful Swiss countryside (to the soundtrack of the cows’ bells ringing) and then retiring to living room cozying up by the fire – I cannot think of anything better!
While I love a good glass of Sauvignon Blanc or Rosé in the summer, AVA Grace Vineyard’s Chardonnay is my white wine drink of choice in the fall. Chardonnay pairs well with pumpkin ravioli, stuffed acorn squash, Brussels sprouts salad, and more fall-inspired dishes. It also pairs well with heavier seafood dishes like scallops and lobster. My version of comfort food without the heaviness!
Medium bodied white wine with flavors like vanilla, butter, almonds, and green apple with a touch of oak – sounds like fall to me!
Safe travels y’all!
