I'm Chelsea.

When I studied abroad in Firenze, I thought the Four Seasons was something straight out of a magical fairytale. Their private gardens, passionfruit martinis served in the most elegant fashion, and experiencing some of the best service I had ever had during my short couple hours there topped the reasons for my obsession. Returning nearly four years later, the magic is still there.

The Hotel

The hotel itself is spectacular. You will be in awe by the expansive private gardens which make it feel like a hidden garden oasis in the city.

Just a 10 to 15 minute walk from all of Florence’s best attractions such as Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo’s David in Accademia Gallery, and the Duomo, you truly have the best of both worlds of feeling secluded yet in the heart of the action.

Florence is one of the world’s oldest and most beautiful cities, and the Four Seasons encaptures this. You feel the history of the Renaissance city but in the most 5-star way.

The Room

The hotel is relatively small with 72 guest rooms and 44 suites, all of which are very much spread out, so you don’t feel an overwhelming amount of people around all of the time.

I stayed in a Deluxe Room which was spacious, comfortable, and well designed. The blackout curtains were perfect for catching up on sleep after sleeping on a boat for 7 days, and the all marble bathroom with huge soak-in tub was airy and inviting. I loved the soft green colors on the walls and the gold accents… just my style! I was greeted with a fruit plate and large water bottles for hydrating after the journey in.

Food & Beverage

My stay was short, so I only experienced evening drinks and breakfast at the Four Seasons. A bottle of prosecco at dusk in the garden was the perfect way to start my trip in Florence! The garden is also a great place to enjoy afternoon tea.

I chose to have breakfast in Il Palagio, where you are able to eat off the buffet or a la carte. I perused the buffet which had endless options (even a childrens’ buffet and entire gluten-free section!), but ultimately decided to have the Healthy Breakfast which consisted of: fresh carrot juice, bread basket with rye and multigrain toast, granola with blueberries and blueberry soy milk yogurt to start. They then brought out their egg-white frittata with green asparagus and ricotta cheese (I held the ricotta) with a side of avocado. I loved how they catered to my dietary needs well by even having soy milk yogurt (never happens) and making the frittata without ricotta. Personalized, five-star service at its best!

Amenities

The Four Seasons is the only hotel in the heart of Florence with an on-site spa, which is reason enough to stay. It is the only spa in the world to use products from Officina Profumo – Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella which is one of the world’s oldest pharmacies. That means they still use the same natural ingredients and traditional recipes of monks from the 13th century!

In the summertime, enjoy the outdoor pool. Staying outside the warmer months? No worries, you can use the outdoor whirlpool year-round!

Also, can you say prettiest gym entrance ever? Plus they have workout clothes and shoes for you to borrow on request!

Lastly, one of my favorite amenities was the use of the complimentary shuttle service that took you further into town near the Piazza della Repubblica if you weren’t feeling up for the walk.

Safe travels y’all!

Best,

Chelsea Rose Martin
